FRANKLIN AND THE ADVENTURES OF THE NOBLE KNIGHTS
Welcome to the world of Franklin the Turtle*, the gentle yet mischievous children's character that has been sweeping the globe. Since the release of his first story Franklin In The Dark in 1986, Franklin books have sold over 15 million copies worldwide and have been translated into 10 languages.
It's no wonder Nelvana, the famed children's T.V. producer, has brought Franklin to television in his own cartoon series. Released by Kids Can Press , the adventures of Franklin and his other forest friends are weaved through the imaginative writing of Paulette Bourgeois. "Although their world's seem small, young children's problems are very big," says Bourgeois. "Being a part of Franklin's world let's kids know that they're not alone. Each story is an entertaining way of addressing a common childhood dilemma - told with a touch of humor." In his escapades Franklin deals with such childhood predicaments as: fear of the dark, dawdling, fibbing, sportsmanship and coping without a blanket. All from Franklin's unique and enjoyable outlook.
A children's tale would not be complete without the pictures that make it come alive though, and this is captured beautifully in the rich artwork of Brenda Clark. The illustrations are a blend of pure realism and cartoon-ish make believe. Franklin himself has the appealing look of a turtle mixed with a little boy. Along with his pet fish Goldie, his stuffed dog Sam and a cast of fun loving forest animals that he calls his friends, Franklin is a phenomenon that will endure for years to come. And now, Koba Family Entertainment brings Franklin the Turtle to musical theatre in his first 'in concert' presentation. Watch for Franklin and the Adventures of the Noble Knights coming to a theatres near you. For tour date listings, please go to the "Tour Dates" page.
