Stage Manager - Any Location

Responsibilities:

• Provide overall practical and organizational support to the director, actors, stage crew and technicians throughout every phase of the production process and tour
• Maintenance of stage management cue script consistent to the timing and type of cues as established by the Show Director, Lighting Designer and Technical Director
• Maintenance, consistency and quality of cast and crew performance in the show as established by the Show Director
• Filling of comprehensive show reports after each performance including performance or technical irregularities, health issues in cast, costume or set breakages, required repairs and House Manager or House Technical issues with detailed notes from technicians where required
• Calling of all cues for the cast and crew during performances as previously set by the Show Director, the Lighting Designer or Technical Director
• Placement of quick change costumes and wig fittings
• Load in and out of touring production elements into and out of the storage areas or transportation
• Scheduling and running of rehearsals to tighten up any portion of the show that may be straying from what was originally established by the Director as deemed through consultation with the Dance Captain.
• Responsible for clear communication of all call times to the cast and crew in conjunction with the Road Manager
• Responsible for communication with the Venue House Manager with respect to the performance
• The install and strike of the set at each performance venue including but not limited to:
• The overseeing of the packing and unpacking and placement of all props
• The spiking onstage of all scenery, props and performer’s positions, as previously established by the Director, Lighting Designer, and Technical Director.
• Supervising rehearsals for fly and set moving cues with house technicians and stagehands who are on the show call, prior to the audience being let in to the seating area.
• Insuring the schedule for the sound check and blocking time on stage for the cast is clearly communicated
• Over seeing the general care and maintenance of the props and costumes and their parts including:
• Scheduling the cleaning of all costumes by the designated performers
• The noting of all set, props and costume repairs in the show report
• Notifying the Technical Director of any set or prop repairs that may be required
• Driving of passenger or set transport vehicles as designated by the tour Road Manager or Technical Director as well as maintaining an up to date driver’s log
• Responsible for keeping detailed inventory of contents in the set transportation truck each when driving

• Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities. Resourceful and practical; positive “can do” attitude
• Able to plan and organise timings with minimal supervision, while adhering flawlessly to deadlines
• Mature, friendly, articulate and influential with external parties and colleagues alike
• Strong team player and leader, mature judgement and attention to detail
• Solid understanding of audio & video production for theatre

Experience & Education:

• Minimum 3+ years experience touring with a performing troupe with budget management responsibility
• Familiar withal carnet and brokerage procedures
• Must be in possession of a valid drivers license
• Must be in possession of a valid passport
