CANADIAN COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME WELCOMES 2008 INDUCTEE, PRAIRIE OYSTER
Six time winners of the Group of the Year award, Prairie Oyster will be inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame this fall during Canadian Country Music Week in Winnipeg, September 5-8.
Prairie Oyster lead singer Russell deCarle, guitarist Keith Glass, steel guitarist Dennis Delorme, keyboardist Joan Besen and fiddler John P. Allen recently released their eighth album, One Kiss (Open Road). With more than 30 years under their well-worn belt, the band has amassed twelve new songs that is arguably the best work of their illustrious career. These honky-tonk heroes have never been swayed by prevailing musical trends and their musical integrity helps account for both their longevity and the deep affection with which they are viewed by roots music lovers across Canada and beyond.
Paquin Entertainment proudly congratulates Prairie Oyster on their induction into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame.

DAVE GUNNING WINS 2008 INDIE INTERNATIONAL SONGWRITING CONTEST
Previously acclaimed by critics as one of Canada's best up-and-coming singer-songwriters, Dave Gunning is a charismatic performer that has been described by the Toronto Star as "...the next big thing in the True North of Song, an artist as compelling, as assured and attentive to every nuance of the writing and performing process as Lightfoot, Cockburn and Stan Rogers before him."
"Hard Workin Hands" is the musical brain child of Dave Gunning and Ron Hynes, which "extols the virtues of hard work while also maintaining a sense of self when the work day ends, which is mirrored by Gunning's youthful voice matched to the wiser one of Dr. Ron Hynes." (Exclaim)
The story-telling duo will be playing for their Maritime fans this fall in theatres across Nova Scotia. Visit Dave's MySpace page for details on the tour.
