| FEATURE ARTIST: SERENA RYDER |
Serena Ryder's new full length album is it o.k. (EMI/Atlantic) was born from heartache and heartbreak. The result is a personal, honest record full of soul, beauty and energy. Sadness and vulnerability fill the album, while the first single "Little Bit of Red" showcases her optimism with plenty of fire. Recorded in the same Santa Monica studio as her favourite album Rumors (Warner Bros/Wea) by Fleetwood Mac, the raw emotion and talent Ryder brings to is it o.k. is sure to captivate both seasoned fans and new listeners.
Serena's career has progressed quickly. Her album If Your Memory Serves You Well (EMI) went Gold, along with her hit self-penned single "Weak In The Knees." She also picked up a 2008 JUNO Award for New Artist of the Year and a #1 holiday single for her hit "Calling to Say."
Her new album is available now in Canada and is scheduled for US release in February. Serena is heading out on a huge cross-Canada tour in the New Year to support the album.

| THE CON TAKES TEGAN AND SARA TO GOLD |
Congratulations to Tegan and Sara: The Con was certified GOLD this year! The Con is Tegan and Sara's fifth studio album and was released on July 24th, 2007 on MapleMusic Recordings/Superclose. The album includes 14 tracks showcasing the evolution of Tegan and Sara's melodic and rhythmic vision.
Co-produced by Christopher Walla (Death Cab for Cutie, The Decemberists), the record was cut in Portland, Oregon at Walla's Alberta Court studio. Having taken a break after the success and non-stop touring behind So Jealous, Tegan and Sara spent months apart while continuing to write and record songs that would eventually make the cut on The Con. Using their self-produced home recordings as the template for the final recording process with Walla, they collaborated with Death Cab's Jason McGerr on drums along with AFI's Hunter Burgan and The Rentals' Matt Sharp both on bass.
Tegan and Sara will be ringing in the new year with sold out shows across Australia.

Brasstronaut
Hailing from Vancouver, BC, the music of Brasstronaut is anything but ordinary. Their powerful brassy sound incorporates jazz/classical sounds, while deep orchestration and lyrics make them a very interesting listen. Haunting keys and swirling horns give Brasstronaut's distinctive music the feeling of crumbling jazz halls and fallen cities. The band consists by Bryan Davies (trumpet, flugelhorn), Edo Van Breemen (keyboards, vocals), Brennan Saul (drums) and Johnny Walsh (double-bass). Their debut EP, Old World Lies (Unfamiliar), with the spectacularly moody "Requiem for a Scene," is the perfect way to experience their epic sound... until you see them live.
