His 2021 Juno Award-winning debut project "When Smoke Rises", an ode to friends lost, quickly ushered him from being in-demand songwriter for others to international acclaim for his own performances. Mustafa's artistry has garnered praise from renowned publications and platforms around the globe - celebrated by The New York Times, NPR, New Yorker, Rolling Stone and more, the release introduced the world to Mustafa and his "inner city folk music." In addition to these notable collaborations, Mustafa has also lent his distinctive voice to projects with other esteemed artists, including Daniel Caesar, Metro Boomin, & many more.

Beyond his musical endeavors, Mustafa's talent has also transcended into the world of fashion. Mustafa collaborated with the renowned fashion brand Valentino for their highly anticipated Women's Fall 2019 collection where he worked directly with Valentino's Pierpaolo Piccioli, to infuse his words into the fabric of the collection. Shortly after came the collaboration with Louis Vuitton for their Fall/Winter 2022 collection where he led and narrated a short film for the show. As well as multiple brand campaigns for the likes of Moose Knuckles, Bottega, Destination Toronto and more.
